Defining Technology

What is technology or how will you define technology? It may appear a straightforward question to you, but the answer to this question is not simple. We are seeing technological advancements with time. Each day, we see a new technological device being invented. Technology is moving fast, so: How should you define technology?  The answer is: “It is an Art and Science of utilizing scientific knowledge to pragmatic problems”. What will we receive in return after applying scientific knowledge to practical problems? Consequently, we acquire new technology.

Today, things have become simpler for us. So, you can define technological devices as “innovations that keep making things easier and expedient for us”. In the past, we were deeply involved in calculations, but our minds have given us the useful invention, calculator through which we can solve complex mathematical problems. Robots are expensive; however, robots can aid us in our daily activities. Furthermore, we have smartphones that help us perform various smart tasks with ease. What is behind all of these things? It is technology.

Nowadays, machines are integrated with AI (Artificial Intelligence) software. Thus, machines can execute complex functions. Who had better you thank for that? Technology. The success behind many operations that we carry out today is because of technology. Nowadays, we can see technologically advanced devices in offices, households, and govt. (government) based hi-tech (high technology) operations. These days, we are seeing missiles, grenades, bombs, guns, and so many other destructive weapons. All of these weapons are inventions of technology.

Technological breakthroughs are consistently bringing convenience in our lives. It looks like that in the future, we shall be living in a world full of luxuries. These days, we see jetpacks, which allow us to experience the flight alone. So, a thing is for sure that is, technology is advancing, but it demands us to invest more to get better technological devices. One can predict that the future world of technology will belong to affluent individuals. 

Many technological devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and computers are portable, so we can carry them with us with convenience. We can listen to FM (Frequency Modulation) radio in a car that is a luxury while driving. How should you define technology as it keeps on advancing? Here is the answer to this question:

Innovations that keep on progressing by substituting their previous versions to make lives of people convenient than before are termed as ‘Technology’.
